About Me!

Hi everyone! I never wrote a proper introduction for myself, so how about now?

My name is Kayla, and I am currently a graduate student on her way to becoming a history teacher! Ever since I was little, I dreamt of becoming a teacher or a veterinarian. During my high school experience, I knew becoming a vet wasn't the dream anymore. I had great teachers who inspired me to look into becoming a teacher- following in their footsteps. During my senior year of high school, I chose to look into becoming a social studies/history teacher at the middle or high school levels.

I attended my undergraduate program as a history major, with a minor in social studies. I graduated this past August with my Bachelor of Arts in History. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education through an online program.

I have been a substitute teacher in my local school districts since 2019 and still love doing it! It's always a different experience every day. But, I have met so many students with different personalities, and they have impacted my life in numerous ways.

When I'm not working, you can usually find me with a book in my hand or hanging out with family and friends. I have been loving Elle Kennedy's books, Colleen Hoover's writing, and so many more amazing authors. Along with reading, I write when I have inspiration and free time. I love to write about Greek mythology or romance. I have a few stories that I have been working on this past year. But, writer's block happens one too many times. Hopefully next year, I can complete a whole story.

My family and friends are the most important people in my life- I wouldn't be where I am today without them. They are my biggest supporters and I am so thankful for everything that they have done for me. Below is the lovable family pet, Maxx, who always makes us laugh.
